John F. Gallagher
Born and raised in San Francisco, California, John graduated from El Camino High School and subsequently enlisted in the United States Marine Corps.
After his service in the Marines, he returned to San Francisco and became an electrician and member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union (IBEW Local 6). In addition to working as an electrician and electrical contractor, John spent time at Stanford University as the head of the campus Electrical and Lighting shop, and subsequently as the university’s Manager of In-House Construction. He later retired from Local 6 as a master electrician.
Following his retirement, he discovered his passion for craft work, including giving musical instruments which were damaged beyond repair a new life as unique, elegant lighting pieces.
In addition to his craft work, John enjoys spending time with his family (particularly his four grandsons) and volunteers at Hiller Aviation Museum in San Carlos, California restoring and maintaining the museum displays.
